Hi jonathan:

eVB doesnt allow types.  You can use a workaround
with the MID() function:

eg.

Dim buffer     as String

Buffer =  Mid( Item_Cd +space(100),1,100)
buffer = buffer + Mid( Item_Nm2 +space(100),1,100)

Then write the buffer to a file.  When you want to get it
back then

Dim Buffer as String

Item_CD = Trim(Mid(buffer,1,100))
Iem_Nm2 = Trim(Mid(Buffer,101,100))

Good Luck!

Type statements are not supported in eVB.  You can easily use variant arrays
to simulate types instead.

dim TypeArray as variant
TypeArray=array("name","address",0,0)

Use constants to retrieve values:

public const NAME= 0
public const ADDRESS= 1
public const AMOUNT = 2

TypeArray(NAME)
TypeArray(ADDRESS)
TypeArray(AMOUNT)
