
Software Copyright Question
If it is your own work then you have copyright over it without doing
anything else. However, it is worthwhile to make sure that anyone who
accesses the program is aware that you have claimed copyright for it, so you
should put notices to that effect in prominent places throughout the
application, such as on the splash screen, in About and Help, and in any
documentation.
In some cases lodging a copy with the appropriate national institute is
another way of proclaiming your ownership, but I don't think anyone does
that any more.
