 Text to Speech

Does Windows 95 provide some Text to Speech conversion capability? I am
working on upgrading a application develeoped using VC++. The older
application used a DLL, namely "speech.dll" to do the job. Am not sure
whether it came with earlier versions of Windows? Is there is any equivalent
to do the job.

Thanx in advance.

There was a "speech.dll" that was part of the 16 bit Monologue for Windows
text to speech utility. First Byte has a new '97 version around.

Better yet, go to research.microsoft.com and take a look at both TTS and STT
engines and SDK for MS Voice, MS Dictation, and the MS line of Agent
technologies including the Command and Control engine.
