 Determine if running Win95/95/NT/2000?

Hello:
Can anyone tell me how to determine if a machine is running
win95/98/NT/2000?  I did it before and it was only a couple lines, but i
just can't seem to find them again!  Thanks in advance to anyone who can
help.
