 typedef'ing iterators in MSVC's STL (not the HP STL)

the old HP:
typedef vector<int>::iterator myIterator
worked (and works) fine
the new MSVC (which is more towards ANSI STL) but doesn't support template
default args,
typedef vector<int, allocator<int> >::iterator myIterator

doesn't compile,
any suggestions on how to keep the typedef? I'm still looking thru <vector>
