Using the Excel Trend Function from within VB

I am looking for a way to use the Trend funtion from within excell using
VB. What we need to do is pass some data from a query to the Trend Function
and have the Trend Function return the datapoints that it would normally
chart within Excel. Does anyone have any experience doing anything like
this?
