 Problem with MS VC++ 6.0 SP5: libcd.pdb

I am using Windows'2000, and I have just installed MS VC++
6.0 Service
Pack 5.0 and as I start the de{*filter*} it is looking for the
following
file in my CD-ROM:
d:\8168\vc98\crtbld\crt\src\build\intel\libcd.pdb
If I try to refer it to the new file just installed (from
SP5):
C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO\VC98\LIB\libcd.pdb
then it prompts: "A file with the correct name was found
in this
directory, but it is not the correct one"

What's the problem?
What's the solution to it?

please send your reply to the address in my email (don't
forget to
remove the "NOSPAM." )

Thanks,

 Problem with MS VC++ 6.0 SP5: libcd.pdb
Hi,

The de{*filter*} is looking for the .pdb file in the current directory and then
the path embedded in the libcd.lib for the pdb file.
d:\8168\vc98\crtbld\crt\src\build\intel\libcd.pdb is the path embedded in
the libcd.lib.
This is the actually build directory when libcd.lib is build in Microsoft.
So normally, the de{*filter*} will find the .pdb file in the same directory as
the libcd.lib.

It looks like the de{*filter*} is not finding the correct libcd.pdb file in the
same directory as libcd.lib.  It could be the libd.pdb file is corrupted
during the installation.  Try to copy the libcd.pdb file from the vc6sp5 to
the vc98\lib directory.
