 Application made in visual C++5.0 doesn't start

At the moment I'm working on an apllication in Visual C++ 5.0 which uses a
time function:

wTimerID = timeSetEvent( msInterval,  // delay
                                        wTimerRes,   // resolution (global
variable)
                                        (LPTIMECALLBACK)(&MMTimerCallback),
// callback function
                                        0,
                                          TIME_PERIODIC );

If I just start my apllication there is no problem. When I exit the
application and then start it again, the timer wont start and I end up with
an empty window.
Does anybody know why??
