Well, it's good to know this, as it may save some people in the
future from some annoying times recovering the settings. But...
(You knew there was a but in there, didn't you?)
One day, Jesus and Satan got to talking. And, as sometimes
happens when powerful beings get to talking, they got to
bragging about how good they were as coders. (Well, Satan
bragged and Jesus just looked serene.) So there was nothing
for it but to have a coding contest. And the deadline was set
for three weeks hence, St. Peter to be the adjudicator.
And it's down to 1/2 hour before the deadline. And the two
coders are sweating over their keyboards, and their mice
are moving swiftly, and their disk drives are humming.
Each occasionally takes a quick nervous little glance over
the top of the monitor to check on the state of the other
coder. Sweat, holy from Jesus and sulphrous from Satan,
is pouring off brows.
Suddenly, there is a bolt of lightning. The hardware room
goes dark and quiet. After a few moments, the lights come
back, and the machines start their power-on boots. Satan
lunges forward to his terminal only to give a tortured
shriek. "No! Gone! No!"
In a few moments, from the terminal of Jesus, an amazing
multi-media, 3D graphic rendered, angel choir accompanied
program starts to demo. It's amazing. It's magnificent. It's
totally bug free and user friendly.
Satan is staring in dumbfounded amazement. "But... But...
But how?"
St. Peter looks at Satan and says "Jesus saves."
