Can you tell me why I have this message:

Released version programme is larger in size than the debug version one?s.

I d?ont understand why the size of my program is quite larger when I want
to publish it with a no debug version. This is true for different versions
of Visual C++ from 4.1 to 6.0. My operating system is NT 4.0 and I have
used the following options for the complilation and the link:

No debug:
 /nologo /MD /W3 /GX  /Ob2 /Gy /D "NDEBUG" /D "WIN32" /D "_WINDOWS" /D
"_AFXDLL" /D "_MBCS" /D __huge= /D __export= /D _  /YX"stdafx.h" /Fo".\ND/"
/Fd".\ND/" /Zl /FD /c

Debug :
/nologo /MDd /W3 /GX /ZI /Ob2 /D "_DEBUG" /D "WIN32" /D "_WINDOWS" /D
"_AFXDLL" /D "_MBCS" /D __huge= /D  /YX"stdafx.h" /Fo".\D6/" /Fd".\D6/" /Zl
/FD /c

The size of the compiled object is two times larger in the debug case, that
is normal.

No debug link option:
/nologo /subsystem:windows /incremental:yes /pdb:".\ND/MyProgram.pdb"
/machine:I386 /out:".\ND/MyProgram.exe"

Debug link option:
 /nologo /subsystem:windows /incremental:yes /pdb:".\D6/MyProgram.pdb"
/debug /machine:I386 /out:".\D6\ MyProgram.exe" /OPT:REF
