 Passing parameter with size >255 chars to sqlserver 6.5

Hi,
I am using VC++ 6.5,ADO 2.1,SQLSERVER  6.5.
Is there any way to pass a text parameter with size greater than 255 char to
a stored procedure .

Vassilis,

I am assuming you mean a parameter of either char or varchar data type, and not
a parameter of text data type.

No, the maximum size of char or varchar supported in SQL Server 6.5 is 255.

SQL Server 7.0 supports char and varchar columns and parameters up to 8000
bytes.

When posting, inclusion of SQL (CREATE TABLE ..., INSERT ..., etc) which can be
cut and pasted into Query Analyzer is appreciated.
