Connection Pionts Event firing in worker thread

Hi,
I have a connection point provider written in ATL and the event is fired in
a worker thread. The connection point client is a VB application, which runs
without a problem when run in the VB IDE. But when i compile the VB app into
an exe and run it, i get an Unhandled exception Access Violation when the
connection point provider tries to fire the event. What am i doing wrong
here.
TIA
