Is there an API function or a standard windows/dos program that enables me
to send a message (in a normal messagebox) to another user on the network?

And how can I get the IP ADDRESS ??????????????
There is a program called  ARP ( in directory windows ) that says:

C:\WINDOWS\
ARP - A

Interface: 200.245.152.199
 Internet Address      Physical Address      Type
 200.245.152.254       00-00-0c-35-02-a4     dynamic

I can redirect this to any file, and retrieve information, but not always it
appears the same information.

There is other way that I get to see the address IP, it is through WINIPCFG
(in the directory windows).
But , how  to catch the address of the opened window??

Not sure if your talking NT or not, but in NT if you have the user ID ,
just shell out and do a "net send USERID MESSAGETXT"
You can do it quite easily.
