 How can I monitor TCP/IP packets as they pass through my network card?

 How can I monitor TCP/IP packets as they pass through my network card?

Is there a way for me to open a socket to "listen" to a port that is active to
monitor data from or is this a one way, one lane street?

Would I have to emulate a proxy server?

Converning VB6-
Can this be done with Microsoft's WINSOCK IP Control?

Any pointers??
