Desktop behaves oddly when Shelling EXPLORER or WINFILE

Usenet:

Working with VB5 Enterprise (SP3) and NT Workstation 4.0 (SP3).
When Shelling Explorer there seems to be an odd interaction.
Desktop painting is strange, as when dragging the Explorer window
it will "paint" trails of itself on the desktop.  The application
uses OLE Dragon Droppings to allow dropping a file from Explorer or
WinFile onto any part of the application window, which perhaps could
be part of the problem?  If I use an Explorer session which was NOT
Shelled by the VB5 application these paint trails don't occur.

Any clues?

TIA - Best regards, Lee Gillie
