API call to get Netware user name from 32-bit client using MSFT Client for Netware

I am not having much luck locating a API call to get the Netware user name
from a 32-bit client using the Microsoft Client for Netware.  All the
packages I have seen require using Netware Client 32; which is to {*filter*} for
me.......

Sure would appreciate any help........

Thanks,

Steve

Well, there you go! Ahem... "The Microsoft Client for Netware (Win95 AND
NT) does not fully support the Novell API." I say this so much I'm gonna
have to get a T-shirt... If you want to use Novell's 32-bit APIs, you'll
have to use Novell's 32-bit clients, period. MS has no intention of
addressing this problem.

Try setting an evironement variable such as 'set user=%LOGIN_NAME' in
the login script. Works for me.

Actually, most Netware logins I've been a part of SET an environmental
variable. It Netware 3.xx it is USER and in Netware 4.11 (context type login)
it is the environmental variable NAME. In any case and depending on the
configuration of Netware, a variable is set.

To see the variable, go to a DOS window and type SET at the DOS prompt.
