I wrote an ActiveX document and have created an internet setup, but I
can't seem to get it to work. I have created the index page with the
hyperlink to the page that contains the "object" tags and VBScript.

I am running this on an intranet, using novell web server.
When I click on the link, i get a screen full of garbage. If I load the
index page into the web browser by doing a "file/open" and pointing to
the file, and then click on the link, it works.

I am using Internet Explorer 3.02 (4.70.1300).

any suggestions?

I'm using IE4 and had what I think is a similar problem -- turned out that I
had to set the Security to "Low", not "Medium" as Microsoft suggests.  I
hope this works for you.
