 'c:\WINNT\system32\Comctl32.ocx' could not be loaded

I have VB 5 Pro, and when I go to the Components dialog, Controls tab,
browse for an .ocx file, VB claims the file can not be loaded, for
whichever .ocx I select (Microsoft's, mine, etc.).

This is just a standard exe project, nothing special.  Does anybody know
why I keep getting this error?  I get it in other projects, too.

Thank you for any ideas.

I had the same problem recently.  I went into the .vbp file in notepad and
checked out the version of comctl32.ocx.  I had version 1.1 on my machine,
but the code expected version 1.2.  Just change the line in the .vbp file
to 1.1 instead of 1.2.
Ex: Change
  Object={6B7E6392-850A-101B-AFC0-4210102A8DA7}#1.2#0; comctl32.ocx
        to
  Object={6B7E6392-850A-101B-AFC0-4210102A8DA7}#1.1#0; comctl32.ocx

If you have any problems, email me.

You might also want to check access permissions since you are using NT.
