can anybody help me with the procedures i have to do with the ODBC
setup in order to connect to the SQL ?

Hi Stephen,

First, you had better install MDAC 2.5 or 2.6 on your computer. You can
download them from www.microsoft.com/data

Then, run "Data Source (ODBC)" in control panel, In User DSN or System Dsn,
click Add, and select SQL server driver,  fill in the Name of the DSN and
the name of your SQL server.  Also, you need to specify the authentication
and network protocol.

In a VB program, you can add the ActiveX data object library to the
project, and use follwoing code to open a ADO connection:

Dim conn as new ADODB.connection

conn.Open "DSN=YourDSNName"
