Unregister all variants of that DLL, or rename them, and run a registry
cleaner. The registry cleaner will not find the DLL file in that
case(because it was renamed), and deletes the entries.

Here is one free registry cleaning tool, download the "Slim" or "Portable"
version because the standard version is the same, but includes a
toolbar(Yahoo or Google)

Thanks, I had only done it half way. I did not remove all previous dll
references because they were still in use in other programs. This was an
updated dll that is not compatible with the old one but somehow VB
references the changed project the same as the old project and caused
confusion.

Good thing I know how to use a Registry Cleaner, the one tool that the
pundits scoff at...

Needs no real amplification, but since it's a Weekend...

I can somewhat appreciate where the "pundits" are coming from - but as you
know the scheduled care and maintenance of a development box is different
from a normal user box.

Not only should clean-up utilities be used more frequently, but when a
particular tool appears to break something - then it should be considered a
warning and not an annoyance. lol
