 Getting information about the status of a program started in VB

Sometimes programs (not VB) are started from within a VB-program
sequentially. Can any one give me a hint how i can control this process
in VB5.0 so that the second process will be started after the first one
has finished.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure whether VB has anything specific for doing this.  In VC use
CreateProcess to start a new process, then WaitForSingleObject to wait for
the process object to become signalled.  This occurs when the new process
exits.  Check MSDN for details.

Private Const NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS = &H20&
Private Const INFINITE = -1&

(End of Declarations)

Public Sub ExecCmd(cmdline$)
    Dim proc As PROCESS_INFORMATION
    Dim start As STARTUPINFO

    ' Initialize the STARTUPINFO structure:
    start.dwFlags = 3
    start.wShowWindow = 0
    start.cb = Len(start)

    'Start the shelled application:
    ret& = CreateProcessA(0&, cmdline$, 0&, 0&, 1&, NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS,
0&, 0&, start, proc)
    'Wait for the shelled application to finish:
    ret& = WaitForSingleObject(proc.hProcess, INFINITE)
    ret& = CloseHandle(proc.hProcess)
End Sub

Hope this helps
