I recently installed VB5 enterprise edition on
a machine runnng NT4.0 - SP3.  After installation,
many of the VB5 controls didn't work, saying that
I did not have the required license.

Also on entering VB4, it now comes up as the
Standard version rather than the Pro version.   This
is not just cosmetic.  It functions like the standard
version.

Does anyone have any idea about what is going on here?

It sounds like your registry has been corrupted.  Do you have a backup?  I have
 a similar installation (NT4 wSP3 VB4, VB5), and I never encountered those
 kinds of problems.  It seems like somewhere in the mix you registry was
 corupted.

Sure, I have several backups.  How is that going to help?

I had the same problem when I uninstalled (sorry) Delphi 2.0 and installed
(sorry again) Delphi 3.0. Had to do a reinstall because I couldn't track
back my registry. Never tried to find out wether uninstalling Delphi 2 or
installing Delphi 3 was the problem.
