IMHO, if you need to fill three dim vectors - you really need
something like
C or even ASM :).
I believe that main problem of VB is - MS claims it to be an
ENTERPRISE development
tool - but it is definitely not!!!
Try to create an application with some 50 or more MDI child forms and
then change
something in the MDI form menu :)). There are many more things like
that.... :(

I state - use VB for small to small-to-medium projects if you use it
for
presentation tier of the application. Probably it's enough good to write
code
components - I'm not sure and would like to hear some opinion here (if
anybody
has something to say about it :) ).

I would HOPE anyone programming in VB who comes across this kind of
task would REALIZE that this WILL be slower in VB and implement such a
thing in a DLL written in C or Delphi OR accept the speed loss.

A GOOD programmer knows when to develop in C, VB, etc. and makes use
of this. I think another good point to comment would be to take your
final application and compare how long it takes to implement the whole
app in VB, C, C++, and Delphi. I BET VB and Delphi come out on top (in
that order) for fastest development, even when you write your speed
sensetive functions in C DLLs. AND if you write your speed sensetive
stuff in C, I bet the VB app runs at about the same speed as the
C/C++/Delphi App.

And have to! C++ REALLY implements Obeject Orientation, causing more
overhead. If Delphi also did, it would be slower.
