Collission Detection - help!!

 Collission Detection - help!!

as far as i know, all the surfaces in direct draw are described as
rectangles. Detecting an intersection between rectangles is easy (calling
intersectRect or something like this). Is there a way to detect if some
pixels inside the rectangle have collided with others in another rectangle
from another surface?  Any idea will help.
