Double Click to Open Data File Failed

MFC 7.1 C++ applications build with Visual Studio.NET
2003 cannot open their associated data files with double-
click actions in Windows Explorer.

This is a reproducible behaviour.  For instance, one
could use Visual Studio.NET applicaiton wizard to build a
MFC Doc/View application.  To make life easier, one could
just select a rich text edit view and set the doc type
extension to some unused string, say "bug".  Do not
use "rtf" or "doc" to avoid firing up your WinWord or
WordPad application when you double-click on the data
files in Windows Explorer.

I hope Microsoft can post a solution to work around the
bug.

Please see the reply to your earlier message in another newsgroup.

BTW, if you want to post to multiple newsgroups, try cross posting
rather than posting to each group individually.
