 porting Local DB app to internet DB app?

I have a program that a few people have been using locally. There is now a
need for one person to have access to this database while out of the office
via the internet. Without re-writing the whole app, is there an easy way to
connect to this database using the same app just changing the datasource? I
have been putzing with VB for about a year but have no formal training in
it, so I'm just not sure of my options.

  sPath = "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51;Data Source="
  sPath = sPath &  "Z:\db\fm.mdb;"

Thanks
Ben Z
