Database:                       Informix Online Version 9.2
Database Server:                HP UNIX 11
Client:                         NT4 Workstation
Application:                    Visual Basic 6 using ADO
Informix ODBC driver:   3.31 0000 2.40 TC1X4

When trying to save data from a form in the VB application I get the
following error message:

[AdodcSave:-2147467259 - Insufficient base table information for
updating or refreshing.]

Error is completely random, exactly the same 'save' works about
fif{*filter*} times out of twenty.

Does anybody have a solution?

Are we using the latest ODBC driver?  If not, what is the latest
version and where can it be downloaded from?

The latest odbc drivers update for informix can be downloaded here, you may
have a try:
ftp://ftp.support.lotus.com/pub/desktop/Approach/win32/updates

Another point, you may change the cursorlocation to server side and try
again. I've encountered similar issues that can be resolved using server
side cursorlocation.

If none of the above method can help, ODBC trace log may be helpful.
