Does anyone know if the Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle (version
2.573.4403.00) works with Oracle 8.1.5?

I seem to be able to connect using the Oracle ODBC driver (version
8.01.05.00) but when I try using the Microsoft version, i get a "TNS cannot
resolve service name" error.  The connect string I'm using for Microsoft is
UID=FNBM;PWD=PASSWORD;driver={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};SERVER=DBFNBM;

while the Oracle version is

DRIVER={Oracle ODBC Driver};UID=FNBM;PWD=PASSWORD;DBQ=DBFNBM;DBA=W;

I'm getting the same error on a server.  I have gotten it to work in
the past but can't say how for sure.  the string I use is similar to
yours albeit with a different order: driver={Microsoft ODBC for
Oracle};SERVER=DBFNBM;UID=FNBM;PWD=PASSWORD;  Where SERVER is the tns
name set up in net 8.  If you find a solution please email me!!
