I have had some problems with the Data Control (DAO) connecting to an Access
2000 database.

At design time the Datacontrol DatabaseName Property will connect OK but
when the you then try to set the Recordsource property the following error
occurs. (the Connect property is Access).

Unrecognized database format 'C:\program files\office\1033\fpnWind.mdb'

This problem occurs in both Visual Basic 5 (SP3) and VB6 (SP3).

Is there a patch that I can obtain, or is this a known problem ?

Urgent Help would be apreciated as I am trying to teach Visual Basic 5.

A well-known issue - no patch but fixable ("This behaviour is by
