ADO 2.1, Jet 4.0 as a Provider ?

 ADO 2.1, Jet 4.0 as a Provider ?

I have recently installed ADO 2.1 and when selecting a provider I get Jet
4.0 as a choice.

Is it possible to use the Jet 4.0 provider without having the Offiice 2000
installed ?

Do I get to use the new features like recordlocking ?

Is it possible to use the Jet 4.0 provider with my existing Jet 3.5 MDB
files ?

Yes...but if you create new MDB files (jet 4.0 files) you can't open them
with Office 97 apps.
