 Locks-memory

The situation is: SQL Server 6.5. NT 4.0 The DB server is reconfigured for
the number of locks which more then memory allows. The attempts to
reconfigure it back, alter memory allocation or increase buffer are
unsuccessful due to "insufficient memory..." The changes has took place.
Any ideas will be appreciated. Please send your message directly. Thanks

start sql server from the command line and use the -f parameter.
This will start sql server with the minimum memory configuration.
Then change you settings, shut the server down, restart it.
Should be ok then.

C:\sqlservr.exe -f (...plus any other parameters you need...)
