Hello,

I Use VB6 SP1 on a NT 4.0 workstation SP4. Recenty I installed
the free Crystal Report Designer 6.0 Component which integrates
nicely with the VB6 IDE.

However, when adding a Crystal Report to the project, VB6
crashes upon closing the Windows Report gallery and it
doesn't mather which type of report I select. Even
an empty report causes a crash. The strange thing is that the
sample reports included in the install do work.

Seagate's knowledge base didn't help and reporting the problem
to Seagate didn't work either. I got an ODBC timeout on sending
the problem report form.

I hope someone can help me solving this problem.

I have exactly the same software configuration -- and the same problem.
However, sometimes I can select a report style and data source. I need to
select an OLE DB source (Oracle 7.3). Sometimes I even get to select Oracle
tables and fields for the report (so I know it connects to the database).
But when ever I click "Finish" to close the report wizard, VB 6 blows up.

Since Crystal Reports 6.0 ships with VS 6, I assume this behaviour is
intended to make me upgrade to CR 7.0.

Anyone else have a work around? Will CR 7.0 cure everything?

  When did you download the RDC from Seagate?  If it was before
Thanksgiving, you might want to try uninstalling the RDC and downloading the
latest version of the RDC.  I had the same trouble myself, and was told by


running smoothly!
