If you
1. persevere,
2. persevere,
3. understand the documentation was, and continues to be, outsourced
to Mars,
4. forget telephone (and mostly e-mail) support,
5. read this newsgroup,
6. have a look at the KB at the Seagate web site, and
7. persevere
then eventually (in my case about 2 years) you'll "learn to love" CR.
Yes, there are alternatives (none of which I have any experience of):
Access Reports
ReportSmith
VSReports
?others?

version (6) appears to have some nice, and even useful, improvements.
