 Alternatives to CR

A couple of days ago, I saw the introduction of CR 6.0, which was very
interesting. The version shipped with VB 5.0 (visual studio) is just version
4.6. So you may understand, there is some difference. A lot of things which
were inmpossible in 4.6 can now easily be done. This latest version made us
decide to get 6.0 soon and stop using/considering acces-reports. One of the
major problems with using ACCESS is that when you ship an app, you also have
to ship an complete ACCESS. With CR it is no problem not to ship a full
version of CR..

 Alternatives to CR

If you

1. persevere,
2. persevere,
3. understand the documentation was, and continues to be, outsourced
to Mars,
4. forget telephone (and mostly e-mail) support,
5. read this newsgroup,
6. have a look at the KB at the Seagate web site, and
7. persevere

then eventually (in my case about 2 years) you'll "learn to love" CR.

Yes, there are alternatives (none of which I have any experience of):
        Access Reports
        ReportSmith
        VSReports
        ?others?

Actually, despite my occasional ranting, CR is quite good, and the latest
version (6) appears to have some nice, and even useful, improvements.
