 Problem using file dsn as data source for Crystal Report

I am coding a VB program for use with Crystal Reports 4.6 that I coded based
on a sql server 6.5 data source.
When I try to use a FILE DSN in code(for the ODBC data source), I am unable
to log in to view the report.
It works fine with a regular odbc data source but then I can't distribute
the data source with the application.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
