Seagate Info vs Crystal Reports

 Seagate Info vs Crystal Reports

I have an existing VB program for invoking the Crystal Reports print
engine (crpe32 and related dll's).

Need to modify this to run the seagate info print engine (cipe32 and
related dll's).   Moving to a new environment with only Seagate Info
installed.

Is there a 1-to-1 correspondence between the dll sets?  Is there a
different API for invoking cipe32 from VB?

Thanks for any suggestions.

 Seagate Info vs Crystal Reports
Pat,

You will need the Seagate Info SDK to drive reports from that product.

Speaking from personal experience, the Seagate Info SDK it is most definitely
NOT a superset or analogue of the Crystal Reports API.  You have to deal with
security, report inventory and other issues.

You may want to look into a third-party wrapper for the API.  APOS and
Strafford Technologies were selling those back when I had my project; the
Crystal web site should list their current partners.

Hope this helps.  Good luck in your project.
