Has Anyone Upgraded from CR 8.0 to 8.5?
Upgrading from CR8.0 to CR8.5 Report Designer is very easy and has no
problems.
In fact, if you have the Upgrade license, it looks for a prior version to
upgrade.
The problems are if you are using the CR8.0 Web Component Server. CR8.5
replaces the Web Componet Server with Crystal Enterprise. Neither cause
any problems with IIS, but that part is not a clean upgrade or isntall.
The steps I would recommend....
1) Install CR8.5 on top of CR8.0
2) manaully remove any files relating to Web Component Server (in Current
User and Local Machine under Software/Seagate Software)
3) manually remove any registry entries relating to Web Component Server (In
Program Files/Seagate Software/...
4) Now Install Crystal Enterprise
