We use the Crystal Report ActiveX Viewer for 8.0 in VB6 and the reports who
fine but when you click on the export button contained in the viewer control
and export it to, for example, an excel application it asks you if you want
to create a temp file and then does nothing.

It seems to do this no matter what I select to export it to.

Any help would be grateful.

I think I discovered the reason for this today - are you using Windows2000?
Apparently it doesn't work with Win2k. See this link to google groups
