X-Axis labels in graphs

 X-Axis labels in graphs

I have a value which changes over time and a history of the changes to
this value and the date it changed is held in an access database.  It is
a requirement to show the changes of this value over time in a graph
within a Crystal Report.

As the set of data is quite large, the number of dates being displayed
as labels on the X-axis make the scale unreadable.  Is there an easy way
in which to restrict the number of labels to show only a subset of all
the dates in the set, bearing in mind that the value does not change at
a regular interval.  It is possible to do this within Excel, is it
possible with Crystal 5.0 16-bit.  Does v.6 handle this better?

Thanks in advance for any help.
