Is it possible to open, modify, then save a CR6 report with CR8.5?
Hi David,
a. I've only briefly looked at CR8.5 All of our reports were designed
with CR7. I can only save reports as version 7 or 8.5 when I open them in
CR8.5
b. You are correct. It should be easy to change the font. You might
have to tweak some of the object sizes, etc.
c. I have created a few label reports in CR7. There is a label report
wizard that will help. There are a number of Avery standard labels to
choose from or you can modify any of them and create your own dimensions.
Note: I found that I had to add a small vertical gap between labels in
order for them to print correctly. The labels really don't have a gap
between them, but the starting point for each label changed as I went down
the sheet. Also, get the positioning correct before doing a lot of work on
the label data. I created my labels, created formulas for displaying
information the way I wanted it, positioned everything, etc. After doing
this, I found that I needed to change the gap between labels and I went back
to the wizard. After fixing the dimensions I returned to the label to find
that the entire label was rearranged.
