Crystal Outer join and link options not working?

Crystal Outer join and link options not working?

Win95,  VB 5.0 Ent (SP3)  Crystal Reports 6.0

I've been trying to generate a report from two linked Access tables.  I
want every record from table A and all the associated records from Table B.
CR will only select records from A where there exists a record in B.
If no records in B, then the rec from A doesn't show.

In CR Link Options, I *always* find the "When linking from two files to
this file" and the "SQL Join types" frames grayed out.

I have nothing in the record selection criteria.

I generated a SQL statement in Access that performs correctly and set the
SQLQuery property to that select statement, but this does not affect my
results.

I saw another message (in microsoft.public.vb.crystal) saying they had a
similar problem but there have been no good answers yet.  There was advice
to d/l pdsodbc.zip but I saw nothing on the Seagate site to indicate this
was a fix or that there was a problem with joins and version 6.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Ted

I'm having the same problem with 3 level groups.
Any Ideas how to overcome this.  BTW, suppress if blank is off.

It was suggested to me that I reverse the direction of the link in the CR
Smart Linking section and this solved my problem.

I still have the SQL Join types greyed out, but I *think* I remember
reading that this is because I'm using Access.

It was suggested to me that I reverse the direction of the table link in
the CR Linking option and this solved my particular problem.  I guess the
Smart linking feature guessed incorrectly in this case.
