Main to subreport links is slow!

Using CR 6.0, and data source is an SP from Sqlserver 7.0
I have a main report that has two subreports and when going through
each page, the subreport takes a while to come up at (when run on ISQL
it takes approx. 10secs, so I know its not the SP). The number of
records that it returns is around 800 to 1000.

The fields that was used to link has index on it (nonclustered).  Is
there something else I can do to make it more faster?

Thanks!!
Bob

Hi Bob, the first thing I'd check is that the main report and the subreports
don't have the Database->Verify Database on Every Print option checked.  If
it is, unchecking it should have a considerable performance benefit.

Main to subreport links is slow!
The reports do not have the "Every Print Option" checked. I modified
the report without linking, but it is spawning multiple copies.
Example: the original output really has 5 pages, without the link it
generates the 5 pages over and over. Played around by placing it on
detail or footer section, with the same result.
Can anyone help?

(either SUM or DEDUCTION).  If user typed "SUM", then it suppresses the
subreport that generates "DEDUCTION", and vice versa.

On the "SUM" subreport, it has a box, it still shows when I placed a
suppressed on FORMAT SECTION.  Is there another trick for the box not
to show on the report?
