I can't access controls like Winsock or Internet Transfer
in my VB6 development environment, due to this error:

License information for this component is not found. You
do not have an appropriate license to use this
functionality in the design environment.

Now I know there is supposed to be a fix to this problem.
When I found it, (FILE: VB6Cli.exe Fixes License Problems
with Visual Basic 6.0 -

us;Q194751)  I thought my problems were solved. But
although the utility ran successfully, I still cannot
access the controls.  I've tried the standard rebooting,
but the controls seem unchanged.

If anyone has any input, I'd be very thankful.

Sounds like you have the Learning Edition. It does not include licenses for
those controls.
