 VB32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.exe

I have just started using Visual Basic 4.0 and get the following message
shortly after VB4 starts to load in 32 bit mode:

"VB32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.exe".

When I run in 16 bit mode I do not get this problem.  I have checked
Microsoft KB and updates as well as searched Dejanews.  I am running a
Pentium 166 with 32mb.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.
