Hi all,

    Can any body know how to keep the serial no while the installing the
software created by VB by the setup created by "Package & Deployment
Wizard". Is there any way out to put the check for serial no i.e. at the
time opf installation of the software it should asl for serial no. and if
user enters valid serial number then and then only the installation should
be continued otherwise it should generate an error. So please help me to get
the solution.

The PDW, as written, doesn't prompt for password... but, you can create one
that does by modifying the source found in... <drive>:\Program
Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards\PDWizard\Setup1 and using that
instead. For a cheap, quick solution though, you might want to consider
WinZip's Self Extractor (stand alone). You can create password protected
self-extractors that, after extracting, launches your setup.exe.. it's
around $50.00
