 shortcut keys don't work while my active control is the datagrid

I have a pull down menu item with a F5 keyboard shortcut (assigned in the
menu editor).  When the user has clicked in a cell of the data grid, and
hits F5, the keyboard shortcut doews not work.  Any suggestions ?
