does anyone have any recommendations on a best approach?  obviously, mscomm
can't handle it (char data only)...  net wisdom seems to say that
third-party controls are the way to go but most posts seem to point to the
Com library from the now defunct MicroHelp...  any other alternatives or
suggestions?? tia, Jim
