comctl32.ocx - help!

Stephen Bowye #1 / 5	comctl32.ocx - help! I've installed VB 5 on my new XP box, but can no longer use controls from comctl32.0cx. Message says: "Licence information for this component not found. You do not have the appropriate licence to use this functionality in the design environment" I can therefore no longer work on my project - as soon as I load the form, the existing toolbar removes itself. Tried downloading and registering latest version of comctl32.ocx. Getting desperate - any suggestions gratefully received. Steve.

Hi Steve, Check the project properties --> components screen and make sure that the version of comctl32.ocx your program is pointing to is the one that you have correctly installed. If not, browse to the correct version and use that. Both VB5's and VB6's Setup suffer from this problem. If the the same or newer version of a control already exist when VB is installed, Setup does not register the license information (because Setup does not actually copy the files).
