VB COM project reference works, but dll reference does not
When I run two instances of the VB IDE and create a reference to the VB
project DLL to test,
it works fine.
But if I test the compiled DLL, I get an error message.
[INTERSOLV][ODBC SQl Server Driver][SQl Server]ct_connect(): directory
services layer: internal directory control layer error: there was an error
encountered while binding to the directory service.
If you are just calling one command, both situations work. The error
happens only when you create a new instance of the dll if the first created
recordset still exist. If you set the previous recordset to nothing, then
you are ok again.
The problem is, I need to have the previous recordset open so that I could
used it in a loop that requires another connection to the database.
I am using a disconnected recordset. But it seems there is still an active
connection in the background of some sort that is why I can't create a new
command (stored procedure call)
