WSH 5.6 beta 2

 WSH 5.6 beta 2

WSH 5.6 beta is available from the MSDN scripting site...

Microsoft Windows Script 5.6 Beta Download
http://www.*-*-*.com/

There is still no indication that Win95 or WinME is supported by beta 2.  The download page still
says no Win95 beta support and WinME install "available soon" <g>!

And the beta docs have not changed since they were 1st posted in February...

Should my current 5.1 (5.5) scripts work without problems if I upgrade to
5.6??....

 WSH 5.6 beta 2
I've been running the 5.6 beta since mid November 2000 when it first became available and the only
problems I've had have been with *new* features and even those have been relatively minor....

But, since it is still *BETA*, I don't recommend installing it on any production machines (nor does
anyone else), even though I don't always follow my own advice ;-)...

One of the problems with these script engine beta's though is that
they'll only go out of beta with an accompanying product, so you're stuck
on waiting for the release of that product, it's a pain in the neck, of
course we still need a beta of JScript 5.6 without the bugs.

Jim.
