 Scripting engine under WinXP Pro?

Hi Everyone,

I just migrated to WinXP Pro from Win2k Pro and was wondering what, if
anything, I should know about WSH/VBScript differences between the two.

I checked out www.msdn.microsoft.com/scripting and it looks like WSH v5.6 is
the latest engine, but it's spec'd for Win2k.

I'd like to download all the docs for whatever I'm going to be using now.
Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

WSH 5.6 works fine under win2k.  The differences between 5.1 and 5.6 should
be well documented elsewhere.

It's already installed on XP.  You may want to grab the latest updated
version - which isn't linked there I guess - from here; this version works
on XP and WIn2K, and is still 5.6 but integrates some minor patches:

version 5.6 is the latest release of the script host for 32-bit Windows
systems. As a native component of  Windows XP and  Windows Server 2003, WSH
5.6 provides the environment for creating and hosting scripts that can
perform both local and remote system administration tasks. WSH 5.6 also
runs on Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0. If you're
using one of these older systems, an add-on version of WSH 5.6 can be
downloaded from the scripting section of the MSDN Web site at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting.
